Last football season, our team went to the state championship game. We played Cedar Grove at Rutger's Statuim on December 5, 2007.
Sadly, we lost this game, but it was an amazing experience. We came out strong, but their team was fast and aggresive. I know, all fans use this as an excuse, but the officiating was a little uneven, if you know what I mean. A lot of personal fouls and face masks weren't called.
As you can see in the picture, it was snowing soooo much. That morning, we got about 5 inches of snow. This little problem didn't stop tons of people meeting at the school at 6 AM to have a send off for our team.
There were so many people there despite the weather and the time of day. It was freezing cold at the stadium, but being in that element of excitement and anxiousness felt amazing. I come from a school with around 400 to 500 students. When we filed into the stadium, we filled up 3 sections up, and probably 5 or 6 sections across. We were the littler school, and our crowd beat out Cedar Grove's by a lot.
I have to add 1 little bit of fun information. My boyfriend, #79, along with one of the other linemen broke a kids leg in this game. One of our guys hit him from the top, and the other hit him from the bottom. You do the math! I have to say, even though it is awful that the other player was hurt, I went nuts after this play. I was, and still am extremely proud of my boyfriend and his teammates for their success this season, and in that game.
